Youth Futures

Mentorship program providing emotional, social, and academic support to young children in underserved communities in Israel.

About the Project

The program focuses on children ages 6 to 13 who are experiencing hardship and require external support in everyday areas such as academics, social and family life, emotional coping, and more.

Each mentor works with up to 16 children, providing individualized support and, at times, group sessions.

In 2024, the Jewish Agency also announced the expansion of our long-standing Youth Futures positive intervention program, which serves thousands at-risk children and their families through mentorship and support, focusing on children and youth living in areas heavily affected by the war, who were evacuated from their homes for an extended period and have only recently returned. Many are struggling to readjust to daily life. Some experienced the events of the war firsthand and even lost friends or family members.

The program is designed to help them successfully reintegrate into their communities, process their experiences, and return to a stable routine of school, friendships, and family life.

The program is operated by the Jewish Agency with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Welfare, and the regional councils.
